  1. I’m starting to realize that people lack good mirrors. It’s so hard for anyone to show us how we look, and so hard for us to show anyone how we feel.
  2. No matter where I go, I still end up me. What’s missing never changes. The scenery may change, but I’m still the same incomplete person. The same missing elements torture me with a hunger that I can never satisfy. I think that lack itself is as close as I’ll come to defining myself.
  3. Listening to music is one of the few activities that uses the entirety of the human brain.
  4. Sometimes when you think you have nothing, you realize you have yourself, and that’s something.
  5. Gone. The saddest word in the language. In any language.
  6. Be respectful to women, for they are the mothers of mankind.
  7. Making women the sexual gatekeepers and telling men they just can’t help themselves not only drives home the point that women’s sexuality is unnatural, but also sets up a disturbing dynamic in which women are expected to be responsible for men’s sexual behavior.
  8. Compassion and generosity must be accompanied by detachment. Expecting something in return for them is like doing business. If the owner of a restaurant is all smiles with his customers, it is not because he loves them but because he wants to increase his turnover. When we love and help others, it should not be because we find a particular individual likable but because we see that all beings, whether we think of them as friends or enemies, want to be happy and have the right to happiness.
  9. No matter where I go, I still end up me. What’s missing never changes. The scenery may change, but I’m still the same incomplete person. The same missing elements torture me with a hunger that I can never satisfy. I think that lack itself is as close as I’ll come to defining myself.
  10. Time as he grows old teaches many lessons.
  11. …I’ve seen the paths that your eyes wander down.I want to come too…
  12. Givers have to set limits because takers rarely do.
  13. I was no petty thief, I wanted the world or nothing.
  14. Your dream doesn’t have an expiration date. Take a deep breath and try again.
  15. Smiling is contagious.
